    Ok,
So, i bought a used delco dizzy that was upgraded to pertronix - i installed the Dizzy and followed the pertronix instructions for the wiring (red = 12v switched, black = -terminal on coil). But, i am getting no spark (pulled plug #1 and connected to wire, and grounded it to the block - nothing)

Being that this is a used dizzy/pertronix - do you think there is a problem? I hooked up my meter and checked voltage, also did the suggested steps of doing a jumper straight from the batt. on the red wire on the pertronix, still no go.

I hooked up my meter to the - side of the coil and a good ground and got a steady 2v but no voltage cranking (no pulses like i would get with points) do you think the pertronix is bad? I called them but they were busy and said to leave a message (which i did) any ideas guys? oh 69 CJ5 with 225 Buick V6.

There are new plugs, new plug wires, new coil all on this as well..

when I did mine, I hooked it up and cranked it. It immediately blew the pertronix unit.. fried it. smelled smoke. No spark after initial key turn. It ended up being a brand new coil I just installed was bad and fried 3 pertronix units before I figured it out. I went back with the cheap plain NOS coil and the next new pertronix has worked like a charm since. Not saying that's the problem. Just wanted you to know what happened to me.

I used a pertronix flame thrower coil that was supposed to be the real thing, but alas... it cost me about $250 bucks in the end.

When the key is in the crank position, you are not getting any ignition unless you have a wire from the "R" terminal on the starter solenoid to the + term on the coil. Does your volt meter read 12V at the plus coil during crank? If not it wont fire.

I am reading +12v at the red wire connection before, during and after cranking. The black connection on pertronix reads 2v constant with the key in the on position. The folks at pertronix sent me a diagnostics diag. that i am going to perform later tonite. (battery to red, black to voltmeter and a ground on the ring - just to check if module is functioning - it should change from +v to 0 when moving magnet across it)
