71 renegade 1

Some of you are probably thinking Renegade 1's were 1970 and Renegade 2's were 1971, but that's not entirely true. If it was built after August in 1970 it would be a 71 Renegade 1
What I would like to know is what wheel's this vehicle would have come with. Did it come with the 15x8 steel wheels or did it come with the kelsey-hays 15x7 mags. The reason I ask is because the 71 Renegade 1 did come with some Renegade 2 features, such as the black hood top.
Please don't guess, the only person that could probably answer this Question is someone that owns one.

 

71 Renegade 1's have the top of the hood black, which is a Renegade 2 feature. That's why I was wondering about the wheels.

 

Mnemonic76's Sept 1970 (1971 model year) Renegade I doesn't have the black hood blister. His wheels are steel, but there has been some discussion about them not being the Kelsey Hayes wheels of the Renegade I. Who's to say what is original though as very few people here bought their Jeep new.

 

I believe it was established that mnomonics76's Renegade 1 was built in June or July accourding to the 365745 serial number. My Renegade 1 was built in sept. with a 367426 serial number.

 

I don't know, it's not mine, but here is the dash sticker from his web page. It looks like his was built after yours, but very close in serial number.

My 71 Renegade 1 was built in August of 1970. It has the original 15x8 Kelsey Hayes steel wheels and black hood blister. My uncle bought this Jeep new, so I do know that this is the way it came.

 

I believe that is correct for a 71 Renegade 1. I wasn't sure about the wheels but I was pretty sure about the black hood blister.
