I was told that the change came in mid 68, and some parts guys will ask "early or late 68". The windshield supports are also different. The straight top will have loops mounted to the windshield frame over the upper wipers and the curved top have supports mounted on the hood. Same center footman loop to secure the laid down windshield, though.
I upgraded back in the 80's and never regretted it. The extra vision is obvious, once installed. In snow country, the lower wipers push the snow down and towards the "defroster"(ha!), melting and falling off, instead of pushing it up and freezing solid, reducing vision with each wipe.
Like Peter, my 67 has the b/u lamps mounted higher, but not factory. My T86 has a switch mounted though I don't use them. I mounted a 4" lamp controlled by a toggle for better night backcountry lighting needs.

Boy, I'll say! If you add the vent windshield it's even worse. It's kinda like being in a cave. There is extra frame around those little pieces of glass. I was always scrunching down to see out. The '69' windshield with bottom mount wipers was really the ticket. I never put the vent windshield back on.
