    Hey Guys,

What have you used to fix the rear floor panel? I really like the look of the orginal metal with the ribs in it, but mine is rotting away quickly. Flat sheetmetal is kinda boring and dimond plate is better but still lacking. I think the replacement is like $325 w shipping so i am hoping for something cheaper.

Any Idea or Pictures of what you did?

I'd call Jeep Panels Plus or Classic Ent before I'd but that offshore piece of poo! Truck freight shipping will put that over the $500 mark for most people, add in a junk primer and crappy welds and shipping damage and you're better off with plywood! http://www.classicent.com/jeep.php About halfway down the page.

Yea, I saw the classic ent. one but I was thinking of fabing up something to save some money. maybe an old truck bed bottom from a junk yard, or something else creative. Just looking for ideas.

    Thanks for the links though!

thats good to know. i was getting kinda excited when i looked. I wish i could just get some templates and make it all myself. It looks like the floor pans are the same, just mirror with the front lip oposite.

I used 5/4 by 6" composite deck material on my rear floor and tops of wheelhouses, certainly not stock but I like the look and indestructible. Might not be a good idea if lots of moisture but not a problem in the desert.

The decking will hold up, I think you could submerse that stuff in saltwater, I was worried about trapping moisture underneath and causing rust on the remaining floor and braces.

That does sound cool. It would be pretty easy to fab up some 1.5"x.75" framework to mount to and be very unique. Do you have any pictures of the finshed project?

You can buy new bed floor for pickup trucks. Go to Raybuck http://raybuck.com/ and search for "bed floor."

nice! 16"x48" sections for only $35. i could make 2 of those work and it would be a bit cheaper than the orginal replacement, heck it might even be cheaper than the composite deck stuff.
