:v6:This Jeep was given to me by a friend who did not want to spend the $ to have someone refurb this project for him. It had belonged to his father-in-law and had been left at our camp down along the white river. Needless to say the river came up a couple times before the jeep got out and it went swimming a couple times. I was able to track down the orginal owners and the kind wife helped me get a new title and the project began. What I know so far is a Canadian built CJ5 Dauntless V6 225. Motor is shot apparently heads had been changed at one time or another. Found a new donor motor that had been rebuilt, and it is sitting waiting. I did not take a before picture like a idiot so here are the pictures during disassembly.

Sorry just realized you cannot post pictures.

I moved this here as it sounds like you're starting a build thread .
You can load your pics onto any of the free web pic hosting sites (eg Photobucket) then copy and paste them into your thread here. Remember to reduce them to 640x480 first.

Can somone explain posting pictures. I have now opened another account for photbucket so I get to keep up with another login and password for the rest of my life...........why can we just not use the manage attachments feature and browse like other sites. Why do I have to go to a 3 party site to cut and paste pictures that I cannot seem to figure out!

    This is very frustrating.

You can also put them all in one post if you want.

Yeah I feel like a total DA. He said be carefull of picture size. Only other expereince I had with that was limited number of photos per post. Anyway hopefully a moderator can clean it up and if not they need to fix the attachment part so its user friendly.

Body back from soda blaster and sand blasting. They went ahead and shopt primer on the body for me. I did not ask for it but got charged anyway. Thats gonna make it harder for me to to see the spot welds.

Man I knew I had to replace the floor pans and some hat channel but now I am feeling overwhelmed.........rear floor is toast and some the of rear fenderwell metal on inside of the cab has some holes. I get impatient on this stuff and start feeling like I just need to hurry and get it done.

Question if you have some holes but the metal is in good shape around it is it ok to fill them and sand them down and will the bondo stay?

PO had glued carpet in and it really took a toll on spots.

I am working on the rotisserie right now so I can spin the jeep and move it around.

Ouch. Tubs that look like that make me feel much better about my project... that's a bummer. The PO on mine had carpet as well... but it was poorly glued (thankfully) and I yanked it out immediately.

At least there are plenty of aftermarket panels you can buy to piece back into the floors and even the whole tool box. So, it's not a deal-breaker at all.

Maybe they were trying to improve the looks of things by spraying the primer on there for you. I would have kicked a fit about being charged.

Rear floor is out. Anyone have good a inexpensive source for floor material? My plan was to leave the 3/4 inch lip around the edges drill holes ever 1" or so then lay the new material down and spot weld back in place and run new hat channel braces across. We have some 3/16 tread plate sheet at work and even thought about putting that back in. Its a little over kill but free. Suggestions?

You could just use flat sheet steel. Won't have the bead roll for strength, but with good hat channel underneath you'll probably be fine. I found a place locally last year that sold me a 4x8 sheet of 16ga for $75, IIRC.

Looks like a nice project. My '73 tub is about in the same shape. Pretty cool that you were able to track down the original owners.

    Frame upside down.

Acutally having them do the windshield in powdercoat black also.

Going to make a new rear floor panel this week form 18ga. My buddy owns a motorcycle fabrication shop and he has a bead roller and break so I deceided to make the rear floor panel. Our plan is to roll the breaks into the floor pannel and make the hat channel support on the underside.

I went ahead and ordered the hat channel front floor supports from Classis Enterprises.
