Reverse lights

I'm looking for a seller's link for a part for my reverse lights. It's the connector piece that plugs into the tranny to activate the lights when in reverse. I know this post isn't very technical, but I can't even find the part NAME online, let alone the part itself.

My jeep is a 1975 CJ5 and has the detached backup lights.

    Appreciate any help.

You talking about the electrical plug on the end of the wire or the switch? The thread-in switch is called a back-up light or reverse light switch. I got a replacement switch from Federated Auti Parts.

now where would i find the connector to that switch? Or do i just wire into each post?

The advice I've read is to just wire into each post. I believe the receiver for the blade type connector will work.

There's been some discussion about the connector in the past. It may or may not be available - check the HELP pegs at your FLAPS or look through the online Dorman catalog.

If it were mine, I'd solder the wires to the posts and use bullet connectors. The flat connector seems to be problematic.

Back-up light switch was about $15 with tax at Advance Auto Parts for me last year.
