I check the thread every time a new post pops up. If I had to contribute I would. Keep it up.

Mine says GPD-620 but I can't tell what the last digit was. Maybe they are the same and were on the same PO.

Working on the Jeep tonight/tomorrow, taking it out wheeling Sunday hopefully. (Anyone from SoCal wanna come?) Swapping in the 27 I got from JohnnyJeep (THANKS!) until I get a 30 and replacing the springs/shackles/bushings while I'm at it...until I go YJ SOA They're pretty bad, I'll post pics later on. Turns out we have trailer spring bushings bolts and shackles in stock at the shop that fit. Sweet!

I have some questions I need to post pics for too, like steering linkage=draglink/tierod connction hitting the pass side spring.

Also going to get as far into the top priorities on my list as I can. Body mounts, alternator wiring/replace, see where that oil leak is coming from.

Think this tells the story of what happened to the old V6, looks like a con rod might have passed by this way... The engine in it is brand new. Which reminds, me I need to change the oil...

Put this on the other day. My brother made it for my old CJ-7 years ago when we got our CNC mill at the shop. Couldn't get the mirror to stick to the windshield so I bolted it to the frame.

Yes, sir. About 8 psi. Still rides like a buckboard. I think some YJ springs SOA and some 32s or so are in order...

Not for the time being. I think it originally broke from being beat on too hard, pulling balers or something and was very poorly welded when it was "repaired" and cracked again. I ground out all the poop weld and rewelded it. No point in strapping it (it will just break at the end of the strap) unless I strap/box/cage the whole thing and I'm not going to do that right now.

I have had good luck by not welding the ends of the plate, just round the corners a little bit. I think it lets it flex just enough not to crack at the end of the plate.

Yeah, that should work. Kinda wanted to just let it ride as it is and see what it does.

Went up on a water tower today to check out some leaks (120'). I'm not scared of heights, just falling off them. R)

That's my Jeep down there and Superstition up in the top RH corner.

So if you find a leak 120' in the air how do you get the welder up there?

    Crane.

The thing is trashed, it's like a big sprinkler when you put water in it. All the way around them iddle where the water line was/is. To repair it, we'd get a big crane, cut the top half off, repair on the ground, reinstall. Something like that. Might be better off replacing the tank.
