    Guys,

Any members near W. PA who need custom exhaust work done will be happy with the work done by E&E Welding and Exhaust in Mercer, PA. They just finished the exhaust for my 1973 CJ5, a stainless 2-into-1 using a Flowmaster Super 44 Delta muffler. They tied into my cast manifolds with 2-1/4" pipe (matches manifold diameter), running crossover over the front of the skid plate. Plenty of clearance under the front driveshaft, too. Like a good Harley 2-into-1 the junction is NOT simply a T. They ran the two pipes parallel for a bit then tied into a proper Y fitting, transitioning to 2-1/2. The Flowmaster is mounted flat so it's quite close to the rear driveshaft but still clears just fine. FYI, the muffler has offset inlet and outlet, offset to opposite sides. The inlet offset is on the driver's side frame side, where the outlet offset goes toward centerline. This helps to clear my parking brake cables. The tailpipe tucks up nice and high, exiting behind driver's side tire very high and tight. I do think I'd drag the rear crossmember before I'd scratch the tailpipe. It's that high. It's not bargain priced, but it's a custom bent stainless exhaust. I took the muffler with me and paid $320 for the exhaust. For a lifetime exhaust I'm not complaining.

I'll post some pics when I have time, which may be never. But if you're in W. PA and considering an exhaust you're welcome to have a look at mine up close and personal.

Aw, you guys are just picture whores. :) Neither of you would come to W. PA for exhaust work so you obviously just want to covet my exhaust. What would Jesus say about me promoting your covetousness? Especially on a Sunday.

When I get a nice sunny day I'll snap a bunch of pictures. I started this thing a few years ago and just got it inspected so I'm way past due. Didn't touch the bodywork yet, though. If you cross your eyes and look "through" the picture vs at it you can see a nice looking Jeep. R)

That's right. In fact I intend to do my own exhaust. But I was hoping that yours would give me some ideas.

Speaking of sins on a Sunday, what about "lead us not into temptation?" :)

You got me there. I'll get some pics, maybe tomorrow. The sun should be out. I'm not good at getting pics off the camera, let alone uploading them. But I'll work on it.

    dang Chilly,

You've been here over two years and should know better...mehh

Never post about something "new" on your Jeep without posting pictures!!

I cant wait to see the kewl exhaust!

To make up for your severe breach of ECJ5 forum etiquette you should post a sound file of your new exhaust. I am sure many will agree.:D

Now you've just touched the tender ragged edge of my technical abilities. I can't post a sound file because I can't record sound. But I can spell it out:

You forgot to put one hand on an imaginary steering wheel and the other on the imaginary shifter when you did that! :driving:

Is all of that supposed to translate out to sound like the intro drum solo to "Hot For Teacher?"
