You said it. CJ An 89 is a YJ( aka Wrangler) I would say up to 86 for the year.

ok guys ,gonna throw another couple questions out to the experts here .... located a 79 cj front differential assembly with thin discs for my '74 cj5 . my question is will complete differential from the '79 bolt up to the '74 leaf springs or is '79 different bolt pattern ? also what's the deal with thin or thick rotors ? any better preference ? will be using the stock '74 manual drum brake pedal with the '79 disc proportioning valve ,any problems with using the '74 pedal as far as the brake pedal ratio goes with disc brakes? also plan on using a '79 disc master cylinder

On my '75 I'm running Cherokee power brake master and Waggy 44's, disk in the front drum in the back and am running the stock '75 CJ drum brake proportioning valve and it works great. If you wheel your rig a stock 30 won't hold up. I believe the '79 front end will bolt up just fine as far as spring pads are concerned but I don't know about tube sizes, you may need the '79 spring plates.
