Has any one ever bolted on a set of Novaks instead of welding them? I have them clamped to the frame right now and keep looking at the holes they drilled in them for the plugs welds and think "I could just bolt them on". I was thinking maybe putting two grade 8's in them, and then having them welded on when I tow the Jeep to the shop to have the frame fixed. any advice would be great thanks again in advance.

I always welded them... No experience with bolting them like that. The weight involved just lead me down the welding path once I got it hung like I wanted it.

My guess - it would be ok to take to the weld shop, but I wouldn't drive it a lot that way. The factory ones are bolted (for alignment I presume) and welded. There's a lot of shaking and a lot of mass on those brackets... it would be bad if the motor fell out.

How are the novak mounts to work with?? I have been farting around with some trans dapt mounts and hate them and i have seen a few jeeps with the transdapts seems you have to modify to get everything to work out proper.

I really like them. They even allow for some adjustment after you get the engine in. I would take pics, not sure what I can show you as I just got everything buttoned up to start another build.

Let me know and I will see what I can snap.

Yeah they look like they have alot of adjustment, which is probably what i need since i am throwing in a 4.3l and a th350. Look like they might be the easiest to use which is what i want.
