I have been looking for a trailer I can haul my cj5 on when I get it finished. Everybody said I should just get a 16' tandum but I live in a subdivision so I don't have allot of room and I have to be able to move the trailer around by hand. A friend of the family has a Jeep hauler that is basically 2 ramps made into a trailer with a single 5000# axle. We used it a couple of times hauling to Jeep meets in Arkansas and I liked the idea of a single axle, plus it pulled pretty well. Also, with a single axle, I could pick it up by hand. The only thing I didn't like was that it had one sole purpose; hauling a jeep. It was open down the middle. Most trailer dealers only had 5 or 6 "cookie cutter" trailers to pick from and that was it. I finally found a dealer that would make what I wanted. I decided on a 6'x12' with a full wood deck, 2' dovetail, 3' gate, a single 5000# axle and painted light khaki metallic, to match the color I am going to paint my jeep. By the way, that color is a new Jeep color that looks kind of like olive green, gray, tan, and a little gold mixed together. Anyway, I like the trailer. It pulls like I have a small pop up camper behind me. The only down side is that they took that color description literally so it is very light, light khaki. I also stained and poly'ed the deck so I can clean all the oil off easily (my dad's ford leaks like a sponge).

    Anyway, here it is:

That is a very cool trailer. Normally I think people would shy away from something small but the Jeep is relatively small itself - I think its great and looks cool. I had a little 5x10 trailer that wouldnt even pull well behind my Cherokee with anything more than a few Jeep parts on it.

It Looks great. When you load the unit I assume you have to be hooked to the tow rig? If you notice that the front of the trailer want to lift up on the tow rig you can move your front jack to the rear, almost at skid loader or tractor trailer have this. The rear jack keeps it from lifting the rear tires off the ground.

Yea, I thought about putting jacks on the back, but I figured I wouldn't be loading it without it hooked up to the truck. I was worried about it lifting the rear of the truck also, but it just jumps up a little. Its not bad. The only other downside is that it has a tendancy to jump and vibrate at low speeds unloaded. Its not really even enough to worry about. I even put an Xmark mower on it and it still jumps a little. I guess with that heavy duty axle, it needs to be loaded a little for optimal ride quality. The army jeep made it pull great.

Great little trailer you got there. My only tow vehicle is a cherokee so I will have to flat tow mine if I can't drive it or don't want to (the CJ)

That's the only wood deck on a trailer that I have ever liked. Looks good!
