    Hello all,

I have a 71 cj5 with the 60/40 split fold and tumble seat. I want to put bucketseats in. My question is where do I find the brackets to bolt the seats to the floor? I have the Tool box under the Passanger seat, and my gas tank is in the back between the frame.

Now I did a search, and found nothing. I have looked and called all over to try and find a transmission cover, and have had no luck. I have the 3 speed, and the shifter cover on the floor is rusted pretty bad. Any ideas where a guy could find one?

    Thanks

I am in the process of welding up a few brackets for my 67
both brackets will have to be different as you will want the passenger ones to flip forward to get to the tool box
they should take around an hour each to ct and weld up, fit and drill, then painting time, when finished I expect to be able to mount modern highbacks that do not shove you over the roll bar such as the set that were in the jeep when I bought it

I have a 57 cj5. I bought corbeau baja rs seats and the special low mount brackets. The height is great, head not over the windshield. I also had someone fabricate a pivot and lock so the passenger seat pivots fwd for access to the toolbox. I bought the special low rise brackets specifically so the seat is not sitting high. With only a little mod the seats work and look great. The wheel wells also were cut to allow for fwd/back slide.

The Sixty came to me with high-backs mounted on the original brackets. However the PO mounted the drivers seat to the rails over against the drivers door frame, which put you in an awkward angle to the wheel, peddles, and shifters. I used angle iron (steel, actually) mounted under the front to back rails, then mounted the seat rails centering the seat to the wheel. Lowered the seat an inch or so, (what ever the tubing thickness is for the original mounting rails) and inward about 4 inches. Feet are where you need them, the shifter falls into your fist like it is supposed to, and I am not grabbing the 2/4 shifter by mistake any more. Both seats are below the roll bar and windshield height.
