I've been hearing "clunk clunk" anytime I turn the steering wheel and found its the outer leaf shifting over the main leaf on both my front rancho springs. I attribute it to being able to shake the front most clips on the leaf packs by hand. They loosened up for some reason (I have no idea how old these springs are). How do I tighten these things back up? Any advice?

I cut my clips off to improve flex. If you must have them cut them off and use hose clamps. I dont think the clips are the problem. They should be lose. To allow the spring plates to move. I just fix a 'clunk clunk' in my steering, it was in my case the midshaft hitting the factory shock mount.

They make replacement clamps. But the hose clamp thing works. I know because I had them before lifting my JEEP.
