She's a beauty. Love the pickup versions. Just noticed in your pics that the 68 didn't have a light over the switch panel. I had a 72 and it had a little shielded light that shined down over the switches and provided a very weak amount of light so you could see them at night. Wonder what year they introduced this?

Very nice, early 67 if the control panel is original. D30 would be more likely, D44 splined axle wasn't until 68, 69'ish or there about's. Could be someone swapped it in.

VIN confirms it's a 68 model, and the 44 has two piece axles centered diff. I don't have the production date, still finding things out about it.
Can't seem to find where I got that from right off hand. Could be wrong but don't have time to search now got to go to work.

Thinking my '69 had that? I'm pretty sure that the '71 did.

The light was introduced early on in 1969. Mine has it as well that being said.

Now the question about the 44 and interior parts for 67 has me wondering. As we know with titles on these old vehicles just because it says 68 doesn't mean it is. The 44 very well could be a replacement due most of the modification I've seen on this one has been on the suspension and specifically the rear springs. So question is, is it a 67 titled as 68 with rear axle replaced or is it 68 with little seen combination of parts? :? I don't know where I got the idea that the VIN was a 68 because I've looked today and can't find anything that says it is or isn't. Oh well time for :coffee:

Just an update added more pictures to photobucket. Some of the rust issues I'll have to deal with eventually. Also has quite a few pinholes in the cab sheetmetal just above the windshield, sorry no pics of that yet.

Check the firewall tags. I have color and trim codes on a tab on the firewall on the battery (passenger) side.

The pick-up is cool. Not very common... not like Commando's are that common anyways! (Which is why I love them.)

It's an interesting vehicle for sure. Trim plate is in the photobucket account at the beginning of this thread.

Just wanted to update this thread. Pack Rat is right on early 67 guess. Found a VIN list that put it at DEC 66 build. So rear axle is not original but an upgrade over the original axle. Still have no progress on necessary repairs since I bought it due to work sent me out of town for a month. So I hope to get started soon. It has moved up on things to do list:rofl: still have brake job to do on DD before it gets brakes.
