I'm going to be ordering the hells creek 4" lift for the '73. I took all the needed measurements, getting ready to order and something flashed in the back of my head.

The person that did the SOA that it has now had removed and re-welded the rear perches to the top of the housing.
So I need to move them back under. I'm not a welder, but there are a few local places that specialize with this (lifts and axles).

    I see my options as

    1) put the new 4" SUA lift in the front, leave the SOA in the rear and take it to the shop to have the perches re-welded and the rear kit put in. Not sure if this is safe from a driving point (4"lift in front, SOA is about 4" in the rear?).

    2) remove the rear and take it to the shop and hope they get the perches lined up / spaced correctly. Then I can do the full kit myself. I really don't like the idea of having to bleed brakes.

I tried searching the site and I got 4 hits on spring over and none on SOA, I know there has been many a thread on it.

    Thanks for the info.

Though seems I have time now. Placed my lift order with Hell's Creek, and he had sold the last 70-73 commando kit the day before.

They won't be making any for at lease 3-4 weeks due to shutting down the plant for some needed cleaning.

I also have spring over in the rear and under in front due to live hydraulics and blade attachment from previous owner that was done so well I didnt want to change it. Not to intrude on your post but does anyone know if the front springs of a 67 are the same as a cj5? I am looking at the same thing only slightly lifting the front some more.
I also wanted to leave the front spring under so it would handle better down the road but didnt want to pay high dollars for rear springs.
