i have a 1970 cj5 with a points style Delco distributor # 1111330, i purchased a Pertronix ignitor for #1165 for an odd fire. After looking at the distributor before installing the ingnitor i realized that the distributor is not the distributor for the odd fire engine. This is where the confusion sets in because the jeep ran fine before the points went out. So im wondering if i would be ok to install the correct ingnitor #1181 or do you think it may burn oiut the unit, not having the correct dist. #?:?:v6:

I think it's time to call Pertronix and ask them.
That dist number doesn't appear in any of the Jeep books I have.
Are you 100% positive your engine is an odd fire engine ?

The engine block #is 991503 , and i belive the distributor # is from an early 1970s model buisk 350. Can you tell me if the block matches to the odd fire block and does ant body know where i can source a correct points style distributor? thanks.
