does anyone have any diagrams or pictures of a governor on an F-head? I know it was a rare option. I have one and would like to include it on my Jeep.

    Thanks

    Mike

No F-heads in Intermediate Jeeps. Try the correct forum (Early CJ-5 Tech).

First off, what model of governor do you have? If it's a Pierce, Monarch or King-Seely it probably came off an L-head and will have the wrong mounting bracket & throttle linkage for a F-head.

If it's a Novi then it goes something like this-

Yes I know I'm in the wrong forum. I realised this after i sent the post.

I picked up a King-Seely governor and yes it's for an L-head. Just found no info for linkage. Thank you Howard.

I've got the proper Novi linkage , should be easy to duplicate but you may have issues getting it to operate properly as there may be a difference in the arm lenghts between the K_S & Novi unis, I'll get some detailed pics & measurments off my unit if you'd like.

Mike, here's some pics showing the arm lengths, the mount & linkage

The linkage should be easy but if the arms on yours are different lengths you could be in for some fun, I've seen engine governors get unbalanced by the most inconsequential looking adjustments, get them a little bit too far off the "sweet spot" and they start hunting all over the place. :(

Let me know if you need more detail on anything-
