    Hello,

I'm new to this site, so not sure if this is the right avenue for this request. I am searching for some parts to restore my 74 renegade.

The parts I am looking for seem hard to find. I need help locating parts like the original tail light housing and lenses and the defroster pull knob cables and plastic housing (mine is cracked). I am looking for OE parts.

    Thanks,
    Jim

The original tail light housings for the 74/75 are NLA. The only source would be WTB ads or a Jeep specific junkyard. I have seen one trailer light made of plastic that is pretty close to the "top hat" design of the original, I'll try to get a number and manufacturer off the light the next time I'm at my buddy's house, if you want.

The originals are so hard to find, and expensive when you do find one that I spent hours fixing one of my originals after I was attacked from behind by a large sequoia tree. A lot of tap, tap, tap, to beat it back into shape.

Lenses for the originals are available new at NAPA, I don't remember the p/n, but I could look for that also, if it would help you...

Does anyone have a pic of what the originals look like. I have two tail lights and reverse lights in good shape of my 74 that I didn't use.

I've included some shots I just took of the back of my tRUSTY 74 CJ5 here: Click on for for image larger image.

This side has the license plate light in it on the bottom.
And for some reason it has some kind of space to make it stand off the body like 1/2" or so. I guess so it'll throw better light on the license plate.
