i have a cj5 that i am swapping a 360 into, it used to have a 258. I have a couple options for carbs. the 360 will have a stock cam and manifolds.
I have a stock 2bbl intake and motorcraft carb, which came on the 360
I also have a stock 4bbl intake and holley 4bbl carb.
I am leaning towards the 2bbl, what do you guys think?

the motorcraft 2bbl mc2100 that came on the cj's works really well off road. Not the best for all out power, but an excellent all around carb.

:iagree: The motorcraft 2bbl is a good all around unit with good off road manners, I think you will find that a 2bbl 360 V8 in a cj5 can be a handfull :)

I think you would be well served with the stock 2bbl.

I recently purchased a remanufactured Edlebrock 600 from Bulltear, allready dialed in and included a tuning manual and gaskets for under $200. Put it on my 360 and runs better than it ever has... no adjustments needed

    Dude....Q-JET! Wtf...

Q-jet owns all off road! Plus it's got some small *** primaries for gas mileage

    And it's got Vac secondaries

I believe the Bulltear rebuilt "Edelbrock" carb is a Q-jet.

My problem with the 4 barrel is the stock intake is a odd bore pattern and will not let the butterflys open up, I will need a spacer. I dont know what i want do yet.

No, the Edelbrock is a copy of the Carter AFB.

The Rochester Quadrajet would be an excellent choice, if you can adapt it to your manifold. The earlier AMC 4V manifolds have the square Holley pattern. You can buy an adapter from the Holley pattern to a Quadrajet. If you have the later spread-bore manifold (ca '75 or later? something like that) then the only easy carb to use is the Motorcraft 4350 that was original equipment. The 4350 is ok, though the tops tend to warp.

If you want a new carb, both the Edelbrock and the Holley Truck Avenger are good choices.

The factory Motorcraft 2100 and 2150 are both good choices, if you want to use a 2V carb.

I am thinking of buying a spacer for the 4bbl intake so I can use the 4bbl carb. And I guess I will buy a cam. I just have to figure out the vacuum lines and egr valve. The egr on the 2bbl intake has a threaded metal hose into the intake and the 4bbl has what looks like a hole for a grommet that the hose would push into.
This V8 swap was supposed to be easy.
