New here to the forum, and just picked up my second jeep  Well the fun has just begun i just rebuilt my carter YF 1bbl and its missing quite a few things some that i don't really need as it's just a farm jeep and i made do with what i got and got it running, but there is one key part that i can seem to find anywhere its the bar that goes across the carb with the thread in the center for the air breather assembly and i need to figure out where i can either get one or if i anyone has another way to put a air breather on it any help would be great thanks in advance.

Hmmmm, what kind of jeep? As far as i know the YF never came with that arrangement, should be a remote mount oil bath air filter with a big rubber tube running over to an 'air horn' that attaches to the flange around the top of the carb with a compression ring.

    see pics here-

    Year? Engine?

My original Carter had a breather directly on top. Couldn't tell you where to get a new one though.
You may have to fab something.

Here is a pic of my original carter.

Interesting, I didn't know they kept using YFs after they did away with the F4. That looks like an "emissions" carb, mine looks like this-

Silly question Brian, but was yours held together with Phillips or Torx screws? I can't quite tell from the pic :(

All of the intermediate CJs with 6 cylinder engines came with the Carter YF carburetor. I think AMC used it until the late 70s or early 80s when they switched to 2bbl carter BBD.
