Has someone put newer wrangler type 3 pt. retractable seat belts in their old jeep? I have an early 70's stock cage and the bar is set back a bit from the low back seat. Is there enough room for it to allow enough forward movement? Please direct me to the answer. My origian lap belts are cool with the jeep logo but are just not working well enough and I would like more safety. I have the front cage in and with the lap belts my head will hit the front hoop. I will pad the front hoop as well.

    thank you,

    Peter

I did it with seat belts from a Ford E 350 just because that was the first vehicle in line at the junk yard. I welded a Bolt on my roll bar and bolted it to my fenderwell but my tub is a home built and it is 1/8" thick

oh yah I tried to test the belts before mounting them and they remained LOCKED solid until it was bolted. that was the only frustrating part I encountered.
