Is there any interest in having the detailed drawings for parts of a Jeep CJ5? Work upgrade me to SolidWorks 2009 for work and I need to learn how to use it. I also wanted to do some custom design stuff for my 1964 CJ5. I have been drawing on it as I can get dimensions of it. I just recently acquired a new whole body and started drawing some of the pieces. I am working on the dash right now and almost done with it. Had seen topics or I have done searches to find dimensions for things for my jeep. Was wondering if would be worth wild to post them? Here is what I have of the reproduction dash. I still have a little to do. I also want to verify some dimensions and compare those dimensions to my original one.

If someone out there has parts they already drew up in AutoCAD or SolidWorks, I love to get a hold of them to cut down the things I have to measure. My frame is coming along well, but need access to under the engine parts to finish. Also this program allows me to do flat patterns of formed piece it that is help to anyone, for personal use I hope only.

I would like to the CAD files in a .AI or .EPS or a .DXF if you do them. I am working on a full size axle plan right now to swap a J truck front axle in a late cj frame..........

I've been doing AutoCad now for over 15yrs and 3D Modeling since day one. I am currently using AutoCad 2007 & Mechanical Desktop. I don't have the same year Jeep but if I can be of any help, let me know...sounds like fun...!!!

I doing it in SolidWorks 2009. If you look at the one drawing a lot of the brake lines are done. It is fun to do.

I am currently in the process of designing a york compressor bracket for the 225, as well as a front air tank bumper in Inventor '08. i also have designs for a rear bumper with a swing-away capable of holding a 33x12.50 and two 5-gallon jerry cans. this one was originally designed in 3dsmax and on paper. i'd need to translate everything into Inventor, and slightly modify the plans to correct some issues i found i'd overlooked during the build.

after i've gotten a chance to fab up the parts for the new bumper & bracket and and correct any design flaws, i'd be happy to supply anyone with prints or the the project files.

i realize this thread has been dormant for almost 2 years, but i think doing up some cad work on the early cj5s would be a good idea. i'd like to get a whole Jeep drawn up, but that would take a lot more time than i have.

like the OP, i'm learning how to use this program for work and would be willing to spend some time on this project, if anyone else still has interest in it.
