I have headers on my CJ 304. I need to replace the gasket due to a leak. Do I get a standard exhaust manifold gasket or is there a gasket specific for headers? Thanks!

They make Header gaskets just for headers. Manifold gaskets will not seal on most headers. I normally surface check my headers before I install them when new. I first test mount them with home made cardboard gaskets to find any un square areas. Then I fill any low spots with welds or grind high spots down to make sure it's flat.
Once I'm satisfied it's good then I mount them with the header gaskets. The result if done correctly will be no leaks, and a long lasting seal.

We used to use a spray on Permatax header gasket sealer. Copper Plus or some such thing. Worked well.

Mr. Gasket makes a good header gasket for the 304. Definitely follow the advise of Thorwon, Check the header to make sure the surface is still flat. Otherwise your cost and time could be wasted.
