I need help sourcing a clutch for this setup. I took my existing setup to a reputable clutch shop here in Springs and they said they found a "kit" that would fit my application. It was my understanding that the T98 never came behind the 225 from the factory. Am I correct? They say if they order this kit for me and its the wrong one I'm stuck with it.. So I need to make double sure of what I need before I order.

If your running this setup could you post your clutch specs please:D

Once we have a clutch we can reinstall the drive train, so I'm hoping to get it ordered up next week.

    Thanks in advance!
    Greg

    Thanks for the link Sparky.
So my assumption is correct, their shouldn't be a factory replacement "kit" for this clutch, its a mash of the 2.

When I swapped in my t18 and :v6: they had a "kit" that worked it was for a late 70's cj and it worked great. It is possable that there's a kit for another aplication that works for your setup even though yours isn't a factory setup.

I have a factory T18 out of a '71. It takes the same clutch as the T86/ T14 V6. If your input shaft is the same as any of the factory trannys, it should take a stock clutch. FWIW...

Greg - they can match them on the spline (you supplied), diam of input shaft, diam of PPlate/clutch. That is what I used to purchase a 'kit' (from dial a clutch) for my SM465/225 combo.

Ok so back to this issue.. Dial a clutch no longer does custom kits.

    Input shaft dia = 15/16 10 spline
Input shaft length = 7.85 trans face to end
Using info that I found on the novak site, this T-98 came behind a Jeep 4cyl originally.
Their is an adapter on the trans that is 1.5" thick.

The biggest snag is the clutch disc, its 9 7/8" OD with the 15/16" 10 spline ID.
All the disc's I have been able to find online are 1 1/16" 10 spline.
Closest I have found is a Kubota tractor clutch but its 11" OD..

Anyone know a good custom clutch source, getting pretty tired of people looking at me like I'm dumb when I tell them the dia and the input shaft dia.

Maybe I should just sell it to an F head junkie and get a T18...

Try Fort Wayne Clutch, in Fort Wayne Indiana. They are very helpfull and either carry or can make any clutch on the planet.

Could you use an F-head disc with a V6 pressure plate and Novak custom pilot bushing?

Good call sir, I thought the only F-head disc was 8.5".. But I just found one that is 9.5". Should be close enough to the 9 7/8" disc that I have to work.

Where did you find the 9 7/8" disc for this? Do you have a part number? Let us know how this works out, I have the same engine and tranny, but have no idea what the PO used to get it to work. (which it barely does)
