11" brakes help

    the front brake on my jeep keep tightening up to the point of locking up ihave put all new shoes drums springkits adjusters on it i even put a new master cylinder on all it takes is maybe 20miles of driving to do this out of idea of what to do to fix this also could i have the adjusters in wrong maybe somebody has a picture of a 11 " brake thanks

    Right adjuster on the right side, left on the left. They are marked.

    The cable goes to the rear. Left and right are mirror images of each other.

    thanks tim thats how mine look i just cant figure out why the front keep adjusting up so tight the rear brakes dont and everything is set up the same its getting on my nerves

    Do you have the pushrod from the brake pedal to the master cylinder adjusted so as to have just a bit of slack in it? If there isn't any then the the master cylinder piston may not be coming back far enough to allow the brake fluid to return to the reservoir. After a while the fluid heats up, expands & pushes the brake cylinder pistons out causing the the shoes to drag, making more heat, making the fluid expand more, putting more pressure on the pistons, making more heat, causing the brakes to- eventually- lock up.

    Jeeps aren't really noted for this problem but I've seen it happen on other vehicles after a master cylinder swap..

    that happend to me once i flushed the old fluid and made a heat shield and it hasnt happend since

    x 2 just went thru the same thing, started out with the brake light staying on, first long trip after mc replacement all for wheels locked up so tight I had to loosen bleeders to get home, shortened pushrod and all is well
