Very nice! I'm getting close to taking the plunge with the Herm kit.

What kind of work did you have to do to the stock steering shaft. Did you have to get a shop to machine it to attach to the u-joint?

Stock shaft & column need to be shortened. I used an angle grinder with a cut off wheel. The u-joint that attaches to the stock shaft is a friction fit plus you have to drill a 1/4 hole thru u-joint & shaft & used a 1/4 bolt & nut. If you have a nice big vice & a drill press you can do it yourself as I did. I used a cheapo tap & die to insert a set screw into the lower brass bushing supplied by Herm @ the bottom of the stock shaft & column. If you got the proper tools it's not hard at all. Measure twice cut once & some grunt work is all it takes. Not counting the mounting of the steering box it took me a day & a 1/2

You must be running headers. Here's my setup so far, had to move the box forward into the cross member for more clearance( which is going to add radiator mounting issues) and take 3/16" off the box mounting bracket and slide as close to the frame as possible. I also had to add a joint to my steering shaft. How much box to fan blade clearance do you have?

Nice, you got power steering:)...Yes I am running headers from Advance Adapters, clears the shaft with no problems. Even though I'm running a manual box which is shorter than the power unit I did have to do some trimming to box mount & frame brace. Stock fan is too close to the steering box so I intalled a Flexalite 15" which gave me pleanty of clearance. Have not gotten to the radiator yet so i don't know if I have issues there.

I wonder if that steering shaft will clear a rear dump exhaust manifold?
I'd really like to go to manifolds, a Y pipe and single exhaust...

you shouldn't have radiator issues unless you moved the box forward, like I did.

It's going to be really close but should work. I may have to alter the shroud a bit as well.

When you guys get ready to do this and if you are near NE Ohio I have a box out of an Astro which is also reverse rotation which I don't need. Send me a PM, it's taking up space.

He has a web site with the prices for everything except the actual steering box. You have to get that on your own. I bought a new box was in the $250 range I think
