1974 CJ5 leans to left?

Mine leans to the left ( drivers side ) but the major cause is obvious in my case, The drivers side rear spring pack is tired and needs replaced or re-arched. There was evidence of there being some very heavy rear mounted equipment ( possibly a large welder ) and I would bet this wheel got dropped into a hole hard.

The spring pack is notably flatter than on the other side and the shackle angle on the left side is a dead giveaway on mine, It does not need much because I can lift up on the left rear corner with moderate effort and the spring will hold it there until I push it back down or get in it.

My '73 leans the opposite way I turn. All the springs are worn out. So, I have to be careful when I turn; I don't want to flip. I have a whole new suspension waiting for warm weather. We had a '74 Renegade when I was growing up. It didn't lean at all. I guess sometimes you get lucky.

Mine had a severe starboard list when I picked it up. After ripping out the suspenson and replacing it with YJ springs plus the full cage (front to rear 10 mounting points), it sets level. Of course part of that was straighteing the frame while the cage was being built.

I found the lean-fix-block on the '71 when I installed the new Skyjacker springs (back around '97). I didn't know quite what it was... thought about it for awhile, and chose to not reinstall it with the new springs.

My Jeep has always leaned to the left. Now, when I get out of it, I push it back to center so I don't have to see the lean.

    Dvader,

I do that too! It's...umm...obvious, however, why mine leans more to the left.:beer::beer::beer::beer:
