My nephew has gotten his T-18 and is about to mate it to his SB 350.

We have discovered that the T-18 uses a 1-1/16" input shaft and his old tranny (SR4) had a 1-1/8" input shaft. This means that there will be a little difference in the clutch fit.

Because he has a SB350 he'll have to have the pressure plate to fit the chevy engine but he wants the clutch disc to fit the input shaft perfectly. He basically wants a Ford clutch disc to mate to his chevy pressure plate.

Is this possible? I don't know anything about clutches.

I'd think it's fine as long as the diameters match.

Yup. Make sure the diameters match. look at the centerforce website and download the catalog. it gives all the sizes and diamteters. For my T18 i had to use a 225 pressure plate and a ford truck disc.

Be sure to check the fit on the pilot bushing

I used the AA kit to shorten up the input shaft and the kit called for a Chevy 10 1/2 inch clutch, (I think they grooved the input shaft for that). The pilot bushing will be the tricky part. Novak and AA both make one, but, it's not common stocked part.

I mated my Ford NP435 to my Chevy 350 with a Chevy PP and Ford disk (both were 11"). I also had the front bearing retainer snout turned down so I could use a Chevy throwout bearing. Plus, the outer edge of the retainer had to be turned down a bit so it would fit in the Chevy bellhousing. Once the bearing retainer was turned down, I had to switch to allen head bolts because standard hex bolts' heads stuck out and interfered with the fit into the bellhousing. I got almost all my info off Novak's site. Just curious, what type of bellhousing is he using? Also, what type of clutch fork is he using and lastly, what type of clutch linkage is he planning to use? I used a Hydraulic clutch linkage which works pretty well for the most part. Howver, it is a bit stiff because I shortened the clutch fork in an attempt to get the clutch to disengage all the way. I've messed with various Master Cylinders and Slave Cylinders and am contemplating revamping the whole system to lighten up the clutch pedal... good luck!

I think the reason for using the smaller 10 1/2 inch clutch is to gain that 1/2 inch for driveshaft clearance, with a smaller bell housing. The bellhousing that was on Lil' Ug when I bought her was the older type with the tranny mounts built into the bottom. I have looked at switching to a small aluminum one, the PO sawed off the corner so the driveshaft would clear.
