Fuel Tank Strap Mystery

    I did a search on this but no answers.My problem is the two piece strap kit from Vintage Jeep.I have a 66 cj5 and have no idea how these two pieces connect or hold the tank in.Please help with photos or info

    My '64 only has one strap. bolted to the floor then over the tank and bolted to the floor of the bed behind the seat. Simple really, I put a cotton web belt (old Coast Guard issue) under the strap for chaffing. No pictures handy, if I can come up with something I'll post.

    Yup, only one piece, at least on the two '67's and the '63 in our family.

    I think the one i have is wrong for my model.I,m going to make me one out of aluminum.Thanks for the info.

    mine only had one also 1955 m38a1, is it possible that the strap set you have is for the under the rear tank used in 1970?
