    I replaced mine at rebuild. I've also heard the noise factor is the reason for fiber. :coffee::hurrican:

    This just happened to me with my 55 cj5 jeep tractor with the 4way snowplow. Of course the white stuff will be here soon too. I need to get it fixed soon. It hasn't cost me a dime in 10 years of using it now and it plows dirt and snow when ever i want it too without hesitation. I just don't understand it why these never caught on as farm vechicles. It can do anything. I do have two loc rites in the diff's with the 5:38's.

    Are these gears easy to come by? I don't I need one but just in case, it would nice to have one on hand with winter coming soon. Wouldn't want to be out of commission too long with a big snow fall.

    NAPA carries them. Took them a day or two to get it. Ran about $60. Depending on
    if it disintegrates or not you'll want to drop the oil pan, clean out the oil filter canister.
    So I would recommend an oil pan gasket, timing cover gasket set, new oil filter. I ended
    up correcting some other issues while I had mine apart but that's what I would get if replacing
    the gear.

    Thanks for info. I have 2 NAPA's 20 min in opposite directions from my house, so it'll be an easy pickup.

    How did you get the crank pulley off? Did you heat it? There's no holes for the puller. I'm just having brain fade today. I had to cut the crank nut off it was rusted that bad.

    Crank pully came off fairly easily. Just used one leg of the pulley puller to hook behind
    to get it off. On one side then the other. Walked it off the crank. I was pretty surprised
    how easily it came off.

    I soaked it with PB blaster and like you said with two big screwdrivers prying equally it came right off.

    On my last 134f i had the engine out to rebuild it and had knock the pulley off with the engine upside down with the oil pan off. But they ran it over heated until it wouldn't run anymore and it was locked up.

    "Christine" is alive and doing well again with its new timing gear. Its just like the movie this old jeep just refuses to die, it keeps on running better than the energizer bunny. I'm ready for the snow now!!!!!! Bring it on!!!!!!

    I think its time to think about rebuilding the 134f head. It has 5/30 oil in it right now with no smoke at all and no knocks or funny noises so i still have a good engine. Plus its squeeky clean inside it too Its time to plan on doing something in the future.
