can anyone direct me to a new tranny cross member i would like to have a original but a decent after market would be ok thanks mule

I doubt you'll find source for new. Lots of people fab up their own. Or you would have a decent shot at finding a good used one.

 

I don't think it's that different from the earlier ones. If they aren't listed online, I suggest you give Walcks or someplace like that a call. You can likely get a used one from J&W or Scotty's in CA, or try WTB here or at Willystech.

 

The earlier ones didn't work for us. Had to fab one.

i've gotta fab one too. Mine's pretty mangled.

 

Can't think of the name of the place but I got a decent used one from a place out east for my '75 which actually fit the holes in my '75 frame even though it is slightly different than the one in my running '75 cj. It seems there may have been more than one style used even in the same year and I can only assume it was determined by what engine/tranny was going in. Before I got hold of that place I was planning on fabbing one too which didn't look like too big a job really. I'll try to look up the name of the place in the checkbook tomorrow.
