new sender and fuel gauge and still no worky

    i posted about this a while back,and since i replaced everything i still can't get it to work.


    the fuel gauge is from ozark 4x4 inc

    the sender came from orielly's

    not sure what/how i should check now

    my ohm meter reads both and without knowing how much fuel is in there not sure if just getting a reading is good enough.

    what the gauge is doing is pegging full and smoking...

    Your gauge is grounded out somewhere

    i only have two wires so that will be simple...temp is seperate aftermarket..

    but the cluster is supposed to be the ground...

    cause i did buy an aftermarket fuel gauge before this one and it did the same thing.

    If you let the smoke out of the gauge, it's already ruined. Be sure to find the problems before installing another new one.

    Yep. Smoke bad. Gauge dead (almost certainly). Be sure to test the circuit before installing a new gauge.

    i tested gauge going off that link you guy's had sent me...it still checks out..


    can i take fuel gauge and hook it up straight to the sender to see if it works?

    The sending unit should be your ground. Are you sure you have the hot feed connected to the proper terminal on the gauge?

    well good news...sort of.


    gauge is fine,but the sending unit was for 0-30 ohm <is this a newer jeep sender?
