    My first thought was to make up some hangers out of 1/2 in conduit for lanterns. You could use them to anchor canopy poles for some shade on the trail or a picnic. If you don't have a spare tire rack in the way, you could make a small table out of some shelving board and use the mounts to hang it from. Of course you would add a leg or two to the opposite side for support.
