V6 emblem

    The V6 emblem that is still on my jeep has a black V and a black 6. The one I bought to replace the one that was missing has an orange V and a black 6. Which one is correct for a 71 cj5.

    For a while I thought the ones with black V and 6 came on Jeepsters....
    I don't think that is necessarily true.....

    Don't know about other years, but my 71 came with black letters and gold, white and red back ground.

    My '71 CJ5 had both the V and the 6 in black on the original emblems.
    I've seen earlier CJ5s with the red V.

    My 71 Ren has a black V and 6 with gold, white and red back ground.

    My 71 Jeepster had a red V and black 6 with gold, white and red back ground.

    My '66 has the original paint on the emblems and the v is red/orange and the 6 is black.

    Mine has black letters, gold white and red background. It was built in Aug-Sep 70 and titled as a 71.
