    Hey guys,

Lost my brandy new PCV grommet and now I don't have the number to order a new one. Jeep can still get them for me, but they can't cross-reference older than 1989. Anyone able to find the number on their grommet?

    Thanks,
    Chilly

    Sorry. 1973 CJ5.

The parts guy seemed only mildly interested in putting down his snickers bar to assist me. I did not know the 360 was offered for so long, but he should have known. I'll give them a call today to see what they can find.

    Thanks,
    Chilly

When I worked parts counter, I always enjoyed handling unusual requests. Those requests gave me a chance to learn something new, and they can be something of a challenge - a puzzle to be solved. Much more interesting than putting away stock, or dusting, for example.

The only time they weren't appreciated was when we were really busy (Saturday!), for obvious reasons.

Sounds like your parts counter guy was just punching the clock and putting in the hours...

Went to different dealership and parts guy was much more helpful. However, the computer images look like the late model AMC 360 PCV screws into the manifold. Could not find a grommet for 89 Grand Wagoneer with 360.

So if anyone would be able to wipe off their grommet well enough to read the part number I'd surely appreciate it.

    Thanks,
    Chilly

The AMC one that is found in the HELP brand stuff at most autoparts stores fits nicely.

I looked at the Dorman site and they don't have a PCV grommet specifically for AMC, at least according to those listings. If my FLAPS didn't have the grommet on a peg, I'd ask them to look up the AMC application in the Dorman catalog, preferably old paper catalogs.

If you search for "pcv grommet" on the Dorman site, you'll get about 50 items that they sell, with pictures.

Your other option is to get one mail order from Turner's, which I linked above.
