The gold heat sunk thingie next to the starter solenoid.
Can anybody tell me what this is? It either a voltage regulator or dual ballast?
I have an MSD ignition system so I'm thinking it's not a Dual Ballast Resistor???

Looks like a battery circuit isolator for running auxiliary lighting and other high amp draw items.

My guess would be a large guage wire from the POS terminal of the new battery to the unused terminal on the isolator. NEG side of the battery goes to ground (of course).
I'm assuming the center terminal on the isolator is hooked to the ALT output wiring, and the other wire is running to the current battery POS terminal.
