I had my tires balalnced the other day and one of the rims had a slight bend. Besides abnormal tire wear, what can this damage?

Trail damage. Went on a run a few days ago with a friend with his new (to him) Toyota Tacoma, lifted, nice truck. He let his buddy who doesn't have much off road experience drive for a good section of rocky trail.

Result: 3 bent aluminum rims, high dollars to replace.

usually you have to whack somethin' pretty good to bend a steel rim. I'm not sure about aluminum, but I'd take a gamble on havin' to smack it pretty good too.

I'd replace it. You can pound out a bent rim on the trail, but I'd think it will never again be really round.

If they were able to balance it, it should be fine for now.

Put the bad rim on the rear and it won't effect as much if it were on the front axle.
