need help with fuel gauge on speedo cluster

    i have a 1980 cj-5....interior is basically stock except for added gauges,and a new wiring harness


    awhile back my gas tank lines were deteriorated/corroded...dropped tank sending unit was shot!

    so i replaced all of that..made sure ground was good

    but...gauge still does not work

    i checked wiring power and sender wires look ok,but what did notice was is this...

    put power on where sender is gauge goes past full switch it back stays at empty


    is there a way to fix it?

    well i tested resistance...hot on pink black on a ground...i got 29.5... or does it have to be ground from sender?
