Did a search and found nothing (maybe wrong words???), anybody know the weights of the flat head and F head, fully dressed and ready to run??

If you're going to do an engine swap, it would be handy for any suspension mods needed. My guess would be in the 400 lb. area, but I just don't know??

    Thanks, Dale

The f-head weighs quite a bit more than 400lbs, its actually heavier than the v6 buick which is listed at 414lb.

Probably less than 650 lbs and more than 500 lbs. Old casting tech makes old engines very heavy - and the 134 dates back to the 30s. A modern cast-iron 4-cylinder is likely 350 lbs (light) and add a couple of hundred pounds of iron to that.

I'd say all the popular modern engines will be lighter than a 134. Not an issue.

Seems unlikely it would weigh that little. I've heard people claim as high as 600 lbs.

The problem with that is that I have heard guys say the Dauntless came with a 100lb flywheel. I can tell you from weighing my factory one its not even close, its heavy but not even close to 100lbs.
I just quoted what was on the cj3b page and it was quoted from the Jeep bible.

Sounds like it would be between 550 and 600 lbs. That's interesting, Hot Rod mag. lists my ford smallblock at 465 lbs. Humm, if I get alum. intake, heads and tube headers, I can put the winch on and STILL be ahead of the weight of a 4!

    Thanks, Dale

Hmm, I wonder if jeeps with F-heads sit noticeably lower than ones with the Dauntless.
