    When I bought my 75 CJ5, there was an aftermarket choke cable mounted in this hole. I replaced the carb with a weber and removed the cable. The hole looks to be from the factory. If you look close, you can see a "locator" notch at the top of the hole which is usually used to keep a switch from rotating. Any thoughts ? Thanks, Jeff

    hmm
    only thing I can think of would be a brake warning light/lamp;
    not for the parking brake but for the hydraulic system.
    anybody else ?

    On my 75, bought new by my wife, there was a dealer installed manual choke there. I have replaced it with a hand throttle. It is my understanding that there was a "button" there from the factory, concealing the hole. If we're lucky, Timgr or Jim will chime in with their input.

    A plug.

    It's in the right place for column-mounted tachometer wires though.

    I had a hole there - guess the plug got lost. Made a great place to put the hand throttle though.

    Is there a corresponding parts list? What is part PO 3.651-1? Looks like a bulb in a lamp of some sort.

    Mmm. Could be right, but I don't recall any of mine (73-75-75) having a brake light. Maybe the '75s do and I haven't noticed. I'll look at the current one when I get home.
