She just wasn't buying it at all today.

She sat outside all winter while the garage was consumed by other projects, and I had a trickle charger on the battery all season. Good cranking power, but no fire. No spark at all to the plugs.

Now I do have spark coming from the coil, which tells me that the Pertronix is still working and I think I just don't have fire traveling through the distributor to the plugs. If the Pertronix wasn't working, I wouldn't have any output from the coil, right?

I'm going to order up a set of plugs, wires, cap and rotor and see what happens. Fuel delivery is good, I have fuel in the glass bowl of the pump as well as out of the accelerator pump in the carb.

Anything else that you guys can think of? :?

Could very well be Jason, they are the crappy Omix-Ada ones that have the boots falling apart after only about 2 years and ~1000 miles.

I might just go and steal my old ones back off the forklift at werk...

Did ya check your battery connections? I had a similar problem on my 68 CJ-5. I thought it was the starter solenoid but turned out to be the battery connections. Good luck

I'm going along with the moisture theory. That's the most logical thing to me.

Do you have spark between the coil wire and cap? Between the cap and plug wires? Did you check the resistance of you wires with a meter?

Dead coil was the culprit, it would spark, but not hot enough to fire the engine over.
