I've got a power steering set up on the way that will fit my jeep. Only problem is i'm in CA and the smog pump is on the drivers side in the way. I am thinking of getting a new alternator with a double v-groove pulley and building brackets to mount the power steering pump under the alternator on the passenger side. Does anyone have any suggestions or foresee any problems with the setup? Help is greatly appreciated thanks

What size engine do you have in your CJ5 ?
If it is a V8 ,the smog pump mounts to the 304 360 V8 power steering pump bracket . On the bottom .

the jeep has a 258 straight six and i was able to get an alternator with a double pulley so I might be in luck with running that separate pulley from the alternator to the steering pump.
