Aqualu is about 15 mins away from me here in Kelowna, BC, Canada. They make very high quality aluminum parts including full jeep bodies that are sold all over the US.
The bodies are built fantastic but would not pass for stock...and I don't think the dashes would either. If you note, the dashes because they are Aluminum must be bolted on like the M38A1 and not welded on like the stock CJ one.
I have a stock 62 dash that I have not put up for sale because I think the shipping costs out Canada to the US would be stupidly high.

The stamped steel dash panels are made from 16 gauge steel. Off hand I am not aware of the tensile strength rating of the steel currently used for this piece.

What CJ's had the dash panel welded on? I assumed they were all bolted on. At least all the ones I've seen are.

My dash is bolted on. I think the only dashes that were welded on are flatfenders.

Just out of curiosity, how are you planning on cutting out the speedo hole? (how ever saracastic that may sound, it is a sincere question)R)

Use a hole saw and then just connect the dots from there with a jigsaw. It will take a little longer but my time is cheap. Of course if I had a plasma cutter it would be easier.
