just wondering, i was trying to debate usings wide dana 44 for my jeep and making brackets to be able to install some shocks on the outside of the frame, sorta like you see on the 07 f150's, if there were mounted diagonal, would it still effect articulation angles? I would assume that this would only help to stablize steering and hwy driving, but as for trails would it be a beneift or burden? would it affect the articulation?:?

Are you talking about the rear or front? In the rear it gets real tight but they will fit outside the frame with the widetrack 44s. Heres mine, but they go up through the body and tie into the roll cage...

i was under the impression that they would be used on all 4 corners, are yours just on the rear?, I dont have a roll bar or cage on my jeep it has a 1/4 ton flatbed in the back. not sure if its applicable now?

I used hoops in the front. I dont see why they wouldnt work for you, I used a long travel shock. I think fully extended its almost 36" long, so thats why I had to mount it like I did. If you go with a shorter shock you should be alright. Make your upper mounts where they fit best, then get some measurements with the axle flexed up and down and most any shock company should be able to help you get the right one for your application. here are my front mounts...

very cool, sounds dooable is that hoop bent away from the frame? do you use spacers or is the shock fit straigh and snug to the frame?

Yeah the hoop comes out at an angle from the frame. Nope no spacers on the shocks, I bolted my tabs to the shock and then let it align them for being welded on. I used an old shock that was laying around so I wouldnt melt my new bushings.
