Does anyone know where a person can get a replacement dashboard to fit a 1969 CJ5? I want a blank one without any speedo cutout. I can live with the glovebox cutout.

I would like a plain smooth steel or plain smooth stainless or aluminum.

    Thanks

I've never seen one for the earlier CJ's. I have seen many with the factory holes welded up for custom gauge installs. Might try Willys Overland Motors www.willysoverland.com and see if they would make you one without holes.

I would stay clear of Willysoverland and dashes. A couple members here (myself included) have had problems with them.

I ordered one from the and asked before hand if it had the cutout for the steering column and was told it did. When it arrived it did not have it and at first Jay was going to refund my $, it then sat on his desk for quite sometime till I called and then Dennis didnt remember telling me it did have the cutout. It does come with a really nice glove box.Maybe you can get Dukes Dash from them.

Have you talked to any sheet metal shops about getting one made up?

I have had the same problem, my dash looks like swish cheese, I found a web site, but now can not find it. I am thinking of going to a local sheet metal shop and have mine made. Should be able to have the glove box put back in as well.

I just made mine. Just used a hole saw and some ss hex bolts to hold it on. I made it more of a half dash so there is more leg room on the pass side.

my brother works @ a machine shop and i had him make me an overlay for my dash and i used a really strong adhesive and actually put it over my existing dash and just drilled through it where the original mounting holes were @ and painted it. it looks pretty nice, i can try to post some pictures if anyone is interested in seeing it.lmk.
