So when i put the jeep in 4wd and try climbing a hill it seems the shifter for the 4wd hits the floor board ( on the side) I did put new bushings in for the transmission and i noticed there is adjustment type screw. Like has a nut on top and bottom and a bolt in the middle but when i turn it it only gets loose never seems to tighten.. Is there any suggestion on what my problem is

I don't know about your Jeep, but my 75 has to have the shifter on the floor to be in low range. No ID on the bolt

I dont know what year model we are dealing with or what combination of T-Case and Trans you have but are you talking about the " Transfer Case Torque Reaction Support " like on the Model 18s ?
    Just throwing things out there.

The bolt your talking about should look like the one in the picture. It should be tight and have two rubbers on it to counter act some of the twisting (torque) of the transmission.

that is exactly what i am talking about in the picture. But i guess my threads are finally gone because it never gets tight. Just keeps spinning but i thought maybe it was all it had.

    it won't get tight
because the bolt is shouldered on both ends it will only tighten so far.
that is normal, there is supoosed to be play in that asembly.

That is correct the rubbers float on the shaft but the nuts should get tight, mine stripped threads on both ends which allowed almost 1/2" of extra movement.
