anyone got a napa part # or suggestion for a 5-7# (low pressure) electric fuel pump for a carb'd engine.

i am about to ditch the 300 CFM holley pro-jection i have and get a 351 CFM MC Carb. since i have everything wired for an electric fuel pump, might as well stay that route instead of going back to mechanical fuel pump.

is this in the right ball park???

    thanks

The carter is a good pump...so is the Holley red pump. You will need (or should have) a regulator with any "good" electric pump...make sure you get a quality regulator as well...and not one of those cheapy plastic dial things.
    Don't like the pro-jection huh?

you could just use your projection pump with filter that uses a return line.
ever think about going with a GM FI setup?

thought i'd go ahead and get the low pressure pump so i'd have the EFI pump to sell with the pro jection kit once its removed.

I ended up getting the 351 CFM carb over the 300 CFM. I will be doing the 4.0 head swap some time next year. The builder also tossed in the jets I'll need once I get to El Paso next summer. I am at sea level now and its near 4k' there.

looks like saturday will be the install day... I'll post the results then.

Did we go through this before? I expect that the Jeep 2V aluminum manifold will work as well as the Clifford manifold if you aren't going to use a 4V carb. If you have the original linkage from the 2V setup, adapting that manifold to a 2100/2150 is a snap.

i dont think you beat me up about that intake yet... other matters about the fuel delivery system yes...

do you have any pics of that intake, i have been looking. i want to compare it to the clifford. thanks for the tips, if it saves money and performs i'll try it.

    thanks

electric fuel pump for a carb, i 110% love this one. looked at the cheaper ones but asked myself if quality meant more when i was on the trail, over an hour from any paved road, broke down in the snow/cold/rain???

its 4-7 PSI works great w/my 351 CFM MC Carb. i installed a pressure gauge and it stays at about 5-5.5 PSI at idle.

*i was already set up for an electric pump because i was running holley pro-jection so it made the install alot easier.

I have one of those Mr. Gasket pumps mounted on the inside fender of my CJ-6. Very noisy - sounds like somepne is hitting the fender with a (small) ball-pen hammer. I think the PO put it there since the bowl dries out on the carb if it sits for a while. It goes away real soon now.

For a good elec. fuel pump (if you can find it) try fausetts (sp), it used to be a bendix, we had them on all our fire trucks (must be good?)!

When I bought my jeep it was installed by PO, lasted me.... wow, 21 yrs. now that I think about it, took me awile to track it down (found it in a marine cat.) but I feel it is one of the better pumps on the market for daily drivers and it "just had a nice heart beat"!!! Went through 2 FLAPS pumps within two months......didn't need a race fuel pump so never tried the Summit cat.
