    Mine attatches to a metal tab bolted on the left side of the bell housing, adjusted with two jamb nuts. The ball end of the cable mounts in a fork type affair on the transmission cross member. I always thought it was some sort of torque cable thingy, but keeping the fan out of the radiator while rough jeepin is a better thing!
