What would you recommend for seats. vinyl, vinyl/cloth or neoprene for as far as wear, clean-ability and comfort? I like the look of the Moabs but are the extras worth it. I live where the winters are cold so the vinyl could crack. The cloth holds water. Neoprene is a unknown to me how is it as far as draw backs.

I prefer vinyl because I'm usually in dry and dusty areas and it's easier to clean however because your in an area that celebrates winter YMMV.

Vinyl. Personally not a fan of TrailMax low back.

vinyl or cloth? I would prefer cloth myself, for the cold and the heat factor. Nothing worse than climbing onto a vinyl seat that has been in the sun all day. What do YOU have in YOUR jeep? I've heard you can swap mustang, YJ, XJ seats in. What's your opinion?

I completely agree with the vinyl/cloth. Ever jump in on a vinyl seat in 90 degree weather? Ouch! But then again I did just install some vinyl/cloth Moabs. I'll let you know how I like them after my Rubicon trip next weekend.

Vinyl. Just like big bus steering wheels and steel wheels they're part of the old Jeep charm.

Hot out? There's a use for the ever-present Jeep towel. You know - the one you keep next to the seat because your defrosters don't work...

I like vinyl for the ease of cleaning and the fact it is part of owning a JEEP. Although I do agree with the cracking in the cold. I live near the vt/ny border and it can get a little cold but not too bad. My previous jeep had the problem with the seats cracking but they did it in the fall ironicaly. Oh well..... anyways I have cloth seat covers on now.

I don't have any as my avatar shows. I was thinking vinyl but thought I'd ask what everyone else thought before buying some.

So what category is the material that is the same as the skin on the soft top?? Not really vinyl... I think they call it denim.
I had Super Seats from Steel Horse, installed them in '95. Everyone complains about that company's quality... I never had any problem with those seats (except they were rather expensive). They are similar to the Bestop TrailMax Pro in 4WDH catalog.
They were tan seats, covered with the same material that was on my tan Bestop soft top.
They held up well in rain, extreme cold and heat, and mud cleaned off fairly easily. Had them in for over 10 yrs, and as of July they still didn't have any rips or tears, didn't show any wear areas. These seats were VERY firm, too firm for some people, but I liked the firmness of the seat, it wasn't as fatiguing on a long drive as a too-soft seat. They also had pretty big bolsters in the lower back that held me in place when offroad/off camber... this arrangement might be too narrow/uncomfortable for some of our larger friends.

    Here's a pic...

    Neoprene

Hose those suckers off and the seats are good as new. THey dry quicker than cloth and vinyl seats have those little stitch holes that allow water to get into the foam of the seat.

But I like topless and doorless myself. I figure a little rain is Gods way of saying it's time to rinse out the jeep.
