Hole in carb - what goes here?

    I got a rebuilt 2jet from holley and bolted it on only to find it ran like crap! I have it all on and set up and found a big vac. leak was my problem. the leak is from a hole on the base of the carb that my old carb didnt have or was plugged. what goes here or how do I plug it? it isn threaded or anything. it shown with arrow in pic taken from behing carb.

    What model is that?
    Probably ought to return it. You can't tell what else might be missing. Could be a vacuum fitting, could be missing a bb-like plug.:(:hurrican::flag::?

    It is a rochester 2 jet off a 71 cj5, I cant figure what should go there maybe some later model emissions? other that that its identical to my core. I think I might just fill the hole with a plug.Im not sure that wouldnt blow out in the event of a backfire. Might just fill hole with molten lead and call it a day.

    press in a bib fitting or what ever they are called ( just like the one next to it) and put on a rubber cap. That way if you ever need a vacuum source you got one.

    I plugged the hole and now all is well but I have smoke comming out my pass side pipe.not bilowing or nothin,just noticable. It is white grey in color I guess I would think more along the line of oil than water?? I suppose after spending money for hei and carb the motor is going GGrrrrrr!
